APG Media helps musician renforshort with new Music Video for Disney+ Clouds, using Virtual Production LED Technology

TORONTO, CANADA, November 17, 2020 – APG Media, North America’s leading LED Virtual Production Supplier, today announced an impressive collaboration with music star renforshort, Post Office Sound and SIRT.  As part of Disney’s new original movie soundtrack for Clouds, the music video was filmed entirely in our virtual production environment.  Using SIRT’s facility in Pinewood Studios, Toronto and APG Media’s LED videowall technology, Post Office were able to create a stunning music video, instantly transporting the artist to another world.

“We want to push the boundaries of virtual production and its applications” said David Weatherhead, President of APG Media. “We’ve used our LED videowalls for movies and TV series, but this was our first music video.  It was exciting to see the speed at which the video could be produced, and the minimal need for any post production.”

According to Tim Hatch, APG Media’s Director of LED Sales for Virtual Production, the process was seamless and the client was extremely happy with the end result. “Unreal Engine was used for the content.  Using camera tracking technology the background content moves in synergy with the camera, instantly creating a real-time environment from the camera lens.” said Tim.  “Our client was extremely happy with the end result, and we look forward to supporting more music videos using virtual production.”

renforshort was kind enough to participate in a behind the scenes explainer video about virtual production.  APG is proud to feature this video on our website for those wanting to learn more about the innovative film-making process.
